The 10th Anniversary Spelling Bee for Literacy needs your genius. We are looking for un-BEE-lievable ways to celebrate ten remarkable years of community support for adult literacy.
BEE imaginative. Come up with small and big ideas for activities, publicity, games – anything! – for before or during the Bee. Send your ideas to the Queen Bee (susanmclc@nc.rr.com) by noon on Thursday, May 30. Winning ways will be announced at the “Bookworms Behind the Bar Fundraiser” at the Sly Fox Pub on June 13, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Join us for a fun evening at the Sly Fox Pub on Thursday, June 13, from 6 to 8 p.m. Greet our guest Book Worms (including Mike Haney, Audrey Moriarty, Carol Sparks and others), enjoy good drinks and good company, buy raffle tickets for a Murder Mystery Dinner at Old Buggy Inn, and put tips in the special tip jars to support our adult tutoring program.
At 7 p.m., we’ll be announcing the winning ideas for celebrating the Tenth Anniversary Spelling Bee for Literacy. Bee participants from the past ten years are invited to wear their costumes to entertain us with their tales of victory and woe from the past.
